Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity has been named the 2025 Michigan Medium Affiliate of the Year.
The award, presented annually, recognizes affiliates that demonstrate excellence in operations, leadership and community impact, according to a community announcement.
Battle Creek was selected from nominations across the state for its strong volunteer engagement, successful partnerships and consistent commitment to advancing Habitat’s mission.

“It is quite an honor for our affiliate to be named medium-sized affiliate of the year,” Michael King, executive director of Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity, said in the announcement. “There are so many amazing affiliates in Michigan, and the help that they have provided us has been very beneficial. Our affiliate is blessed with so many generous volunteers who give of their time, treasure and talents in such selfless ways. They are quite inspiring. We are grateful for our Calhoun County community and the state of Michigan as they have rallied around the work that Habitat does contributing financially so that we can continuously build for those in need.”
As part of the award, Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity will receive $1,500 in funding to support its mission, complimentary registration for one representative to attend the Affiliates in Motion Conference and recognition at the 2025 AIM Awards Banquet on Oct. 29 at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity will be celebrated alongside other statewide award recipients during the AIM Conference Awards Banquet, a night that brings together affiliates, supporters and partners from across Michigan.
