ONTARIO, Calif. – Since October of last year, when the shovel first hit the ground in Ontario, a common question kept arising, what will the team name be? Many fans speculated that the name would be closely related to airplanes and aviation because of the stadium’s close proximity to ONT Airport, and they were right. The city of Ontario has announced that the Dodgers’ Single-A affiliate will be named the Ontario Tower Buzzers.
As of today, the Tower Buzzers have three uniforms that include a home, away, and a yellow alternative jersey. Their primary colors include blue, white, and gray with accents of red and yellow. Along with this, the Buzzers announced their mascot, Maverick the Bee. The Buzzers already have merchandise for sale on their MiLB website.
The Tower Buzzers will be playing at ONT Field which was also recently announced in a press conference earlier in September. ONT Field is in partnership with the Ontario Airport and the stadium will include many “airport” like amenities. For example, a plane hangar in center field that offers food and beverages, a runway in left field that lights up whenever players hit a home run, and many more. The stadium will also include a wiffle ball field, a playground for kids, an ice cream stand, and a water feature in the outfield.
In a recent press conference, Ontario Mayor Paul Leon made it clear that this is the next big thing happening in Ontario. He states the following, “Look at this, this is the next big thing. Big things happen in great cities and this is the great city of today, in the Inland Empire and I’m very proud of that.” He also states that this stadium will not only house a baseball team, but it will be hosting festivals, concerts, 5K races, movie nights, corporate events, and much more.
Baseball fans and Ontario residents have plenty to be excited for in the following years. The Ontario Tower Buzzers season officially starts on April 2, 2026 and fans can now purchase season memberships on their website.
